Why Ranthambore

A Wedding in Ranthambore

Ranthambore, near Sawai Madhopur, combines two things few destinations can: heritage venues and one of India’s best-known tiger reserves. Couples choose it for smaller, experience-led weddings where guests spend mornings on safari and evenings at a fort or jungle resort.

Weddings here follow stricter rules than most of Rajasthan because the venues sit close to the tiger reserve. Sound, lighting and safari permits all need planning well in advance — this is where an experienced planner makes the difference.

Planner’s Notes

What to Know Before Planning in Ranthambore

Sound curfew near the reserve. A November 2025 order by the Sawai Madhopur District Magistrate bans loudspeakers, DJs and sound systems within 1 km of the tiger reserve from 10 pm to 6 am. Laser lights need prior permission, and venues can face action for violations — weddings are named in the order.
Venue house rules. Some resorts go further. Six Senses Fort Barwara caps sound at 70 dB, ends music by 11 pm and discourages confetti, party poppers and cold pyrotechnics. We design celebrations that feel festive within these limits.
Safari permits and closures. Safari permits are booked through the Rajasthan Forest Department portal. Core zones 1–5 have closed for the monsoon from 1 July to 30 September, and weekly closures apply — we check the current schedule before fixing dates.
No private vehicles in the park. Private cars and wedding convoys cannot enter the national park; guests go on official safari vehicles.
Weather. November to February (≈10–20°C) is ideal. Summer reaches 45°C and the monsoon runs July to September.
